Camping with The Mellanders

We pause on this Memorial Day to join in this refrain
for those who gave their All for us so Freedom we’d retain.
For Darkness they confronted in preserving Freedom’s Light
we owe them more than we can pay for giving more than Life
but Lives they gave Endure Today in Hearts and Souls and Minds
of we who drink from Freedom’s Cup the Fruits of Freedom’s Vines.

Today was Erin’s first Mother’s Day. After getting mom breakfast in bed (which was impressive for two week olds) the boys headed to church for the first time. The Mellander Boys were a big hit and did very well during the service, hardly making a sound.

After church, we all headed to Nirchi’s on the Ave for a Mother’s Day brunch with Grandma & Grandpa Mellander, Grandma Dee, Aunt Kelly and Nonna T (Great Grandma Tomassoni).

It was nice all being together and we had some great food!

N and L had their first visit to the pediatrician today for their 1 week checkup and it went great for both. N is just an ounce shy of his birth weight at 5lbs, 10oz. and L has already passed his at 7lbs. 2 oz. We liked the doctor and he was great at answering all of our questions. On their next trip (in July), they will be getting their shots.

Erin is doing much better, following her emergency trip back to the hospital on Sunday. She has lost a lot of weight in the past few days and looks and feels good.
