Weekend Wrap Up

This was a very busy weekend filled with celebration. Saturday was Erin’s birthday so on Friday we went to The Silo in Greene NY for their Friday Seafood Buffet with her twin-sister and Mom. It was a lot of fun, even though we were not thrilled with the place. Erin enjoyed the all you can eat crab legs though!

On Saturday, Erin, the boys and I went to the Chinese buffet with Erin’s Dad and his wife as well as Erin’s sister, her husband and their daughter. Saturday night we went over to Erin’s mom’s house for birthday cookie cake.

On Sunday, we celebrated another big event. Erin got baptized and became a member of our church. It was a very happy event and Erin had two rows of family and friends there to celebrate the event. Erin’s baptism was one of three and 6 people total became new members, which is just great for a small church like ours.

After church we all went over to my Mom and Dad’s house for a nice luncheon.

It was a great weekend and the beautiful weather we had made it even better.

Spring Has Sprung

This week we finally started getting some nice Spring weather. The temp has been in the 60′s, the flowers are popping out of the ground, and the best part….the kids are able to play outside!

Each night we have been taking the boys to a different playground in the area. They love it and have no fear about going down the big slides. Of course the bonus for us is that it tires them out and makes putting them to bed a lot easier.

On Saturday, we took the boys to the Maple Festival In Marathon, NY. Where met up with my parents and Grandma there and spent the day roaming town and checking out the exhibits. The boys loved trying the various Maple samples but the real highlight was the train.

They were running a passenger train from Cortland to Marathon all weekend. The boys loved it. Erin even bought them so engineer hats at the train sale inside the station. It was a lot fun.

Opening Day of Trout Season

Today is the opening day of trout season here in NY. It has become a tradition for my dad, brother and I to spend the day fishing each year. This year we were blessed with great weather. It was overcast and sprinkled occasionally, but the temperature was in the 60′s all day! Unfortunately, it rained very hard all day yesterday, so most of the streams were high and muddy. However, we each came out with one catch, so the day was not a total loss! Besides, fishing always beats working!
