Camping with The Mellanders

Yesterday we took the boys on a road trip to Strasburg, PA to visit one of their favorite people, Thomas the Tank Engine. The Strasburg Rail Road was hosting the “Day Out With Thomas” event, which features a full-size, operating steam locomotive version of Thomas. Not only did we get to see Thomas, but we got to ride his train. The boys were absolutely thrilled to see Thomas and go on their first train ride. The event also featured play areas with Thomas toys and the largest collection of Thomas merchandise for sale I ever hope to see!

It was a very fun day, though we all wished it hadn’t been so hot out! After Thomas we traveled to Erin’s Aunt and Uncle’s house where we got to spend time with some family and stayed over night. This morning, for Father’s Day, we stopped at Cabelas on the ride home so that Micah could get himself a Father’s Day gift!

One weekend morning a few weeks ago, Erin and I entered the boys bedroom to find this scene. Please note that their bedroom is usually picked up and clean.

Notice the boy passed out on the bed in the background. Must have been exhausting!
