Alpine Metal Roofing powered their way to a decisive 12-2 victory over Visions in a game that saw plenty of offensive fireworks, particularly in the later innings.
Visions got on the board early in the top of the 1st when J Connolly singled home K Johns. Alpine responded quickly in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on singles by D Z and C Pittarelli, with E Koutsaris and D Z crossing the plate. They added two more runs in the bottom of the 3rd, highlighted by singles from D Z and C Pittarelli, along with a groundout by T Robinson that brought in another run, making it 6-1.
Visions managed to scratch across another run in the top of the 4th when A Rothermel singled and later scored on a throw after another single. However, Alpine’s offense exploded in the bottom of the 4th. After S Gleason singled and scored on the throw, they tacked on four more runs, capitalizing on a walk and Gleason’s second single of the inning.
The bottom of the 5th inning sealed the deal for Alpine. After R Humiston and E Koutsaris walked and C Gonzalez singled to load the bases, C Pittarelli stepped up and blasted a three-run home run to center field, bringing the score to 12-2. David Z later grounded into a fielder’s choice, allowing another run to score before the inning ended due to the mercy rule.
While Visions had some offensive moments with singles from A Rothermel and J Connolly, they struggled to string together consistent hits against Alpine’s pitching. Alpine’s offense proved too potent, delivering timely hits and capitalizing on opportunities to secure the commanding victory.
