Cory’s Edges Out Visions in Pitcher’s Duel

Endicott, NY – May 17th, 2025 – Cory’s Tax Service emerged victorious in a tight-knit contest against Visions at Logan Field on Friday. While the bats remained relatively quiet for both sides, Cory’s capitalized on early opportunities to secure a hard-fought win.

The game’s decisive moment came in the bottom of the 3rd inning. With two outs, D Ely connected for an inside-the-park home run, driving in M Robinson who had previously singled and advanced on a passed ball. This three-run burst gave Cory’s a lead they would ultimately defend. They had previously scored a run in the bottom of the 1st when M Robinson walked and eventually scored on a groundout by D Ely.

Visions struggled to generate consistent offense against Cory’s pitching. They managed to get runners on base through walks and a few scattered singles. However, they couldn’t string together enough hits to overcome the early deficit.

Pitching was a highlight for both teams. For Cory’s, G Hoyt kept Visions hitters at bay for much of the game, racking up several strikeouts. M Robinson also contributed with scoreless innings in relief. On the Visions side, J Connolly and later E LaRusch battled, also recording multiple strikeouts and limiting the damage after the 3rd inning.

Ultimately, Cory’s early offensive push and solid pitching proved to be the difference in this low-scoring affair.
