Visions displayed a fundamental masterclass in defensive baseball on Saturday at Glendale Park. While the final score ended 6-2 in favor of Cory’s Tax Service, the Visions squad remained competitive until the final out, highlighted by a flawlessly executed game in the field.
The story of the day for Visions was their “glove work.” In a game where the opposition put plenty of balls in play, their disciplined defensive performance kept the game within reach throughout the afternoon.
Visions found success at the plate against a tough starting pitcher, Hudson, who recorded 10 strikeouts. Despite the pressure, the team broke through for two runs:
- Zach led the offensive charge, going 1-for-2 and driving in both of the team’s runs.
- Evan, Zach, and Luke each recorded hits to keep the pressure on.
- On the base paths, Jackson T and Luke were aggressive and clinical, each swiping multiple bases to put themselves in scoring position.
Cory’s jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning following hits by Killian, Trenton, and Nicholas. They extended that lead to 4-0 in the second behind a single from Brody, and Killian added two more RBIs in the third.
While Cory’s benefited from a 16-hit day—led by 3-for-3 performances from Killian, Abel, and Trenton—the Visions defense neutralized many of those opportunities to keep the contest respectable.
Visions will look to carry this momentum and defensive consistency into their next matchup. They travel to take on Pool Dogz this Thursday.
